Kosmo Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 For some strange reason, caffeine makes me drowsy, just the opposite of what it used to do, did someone change the rules here? I tend to drink something with Guarana, it's basically the same as coffee, it has caffeine, but the softdrinks are way better than a cup of joe. Quote
RD Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 It could be that you are used to such extreme quantities of caffeine that your chemical balance has been wiped out Quote

We all know that when you drink/eat something that contains alot of sugar, you get really awake for a while, but when the rush is over you get more tired than you used to be... Now, if we combine this with caffeine, something that usually gets you very awake... And we combine this with looong use, so your body is very accustomed to getting some caffeine, and it doesnt really affect it at all, you're basically used to it.. Conclusion, you get sleepy because your softdrinks contain sugar, and you're too accustomed to caffeine.. Try laying off on the soft drinks (only drink water or milk) for a couple of months, then try coca cola (or whatever) again and you'll notice the difference... Quote
Schmung Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Lay off coffee for a few months!? I'd be sacked, even with the comedown effect it's about the only way I can function in work by Friday. Quote
D3ads Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Insomnia is thought to be the reason for 70% of absences from work according to an article I read recently. I suffer from it pretty badly, it doesn't matter how much sleep I have I'm always tired and I doubt even powerful tranquillisers would actually do anything to solve the problem. It'll be a big problem for me with my new job as I have to be up at 6 in the morning which means an early bedtime rotor.. and I absolutely cannot sleep if I goto bed too early.. it's a losing game all round and a big problem for the working world. RD Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 A mind at peace will cure the sick body, a wise chinese old man once spoke. Try some meditating, or as steppenwolf would say, weed Quote
RD Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 That explains your insomnia, you did weed didnt you? Quote
D3ads Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 That explains your insomnia, you did weed didnt you? I had it a couple of times and I only got high once, it really doesn't do anything for me. Quote
jfas Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 kill yourself. edit : also when has smoking weed EVER contributed to insomnia, that really seems like a contradiction Quote
