I have as well, they are nice people.

But again, if you don't have some serious industry experience you're going to have a hard time getting a job through a recruiter. You just become an expensive risk to any prospective employer (recruiters cost companies many thousands of dollars if you're hired). I let DAM represent me for a long while but I got my current job on my own.

Most companies seem to post their jobs on gamasutra anyway. Some (like EA) just post their stuff on their company website and some will not deal with recruiters at all. Some companies deal only with specific recruiters. If you have the time to look for jobs yourself I suggest you go that route. You can sign up with a recruiter and see if they post anything you miss on your own--they should never send your resume out without your approval.

i think the term "Published title" as the killer for all those who give their work to recruiters. This one recruiter contacted me based on my unreal teaching experience but without that elusive "Published Title", she wasn't interested. Seems like its easier to apply to a company and get rejected from them, rather than going to a middle man/woman recruiter.

They look at your resume, a company looks at both your resume and your art. Hopefully anyway.

Applying at a company directly gives you more chance of being hired for what you can actually do and create instead of what a page of text says

you know what tho :) everytime Candace Walker posts sometime on the forums, everyone responds to her post, so she must be doing something right to generate interest in the posting :D

But its getting anoying really, cause they never even say the name of the company. I wouldn't EVER apply to a job if I didn't know what company it was.

And her\his posts explain so damn litt0l.

Then again, its just her\his job, but she needs to post more random stuff in EOT to get approved :banjo:
