D3ads Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 It's out in the US isn't it? I'm surprised nothing's been said. Who's seen it? What's it like? etc. Quote
insta Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 I heard it sucked, which was a big surprise to me since videogame movies often tend to be of really high quality. Quote
Fletch Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 It made Spice World look like Shakespeare. Quote

Thrik Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 It is the best movie released in 2005 and pisses over most others from the past decade. Quote

Fletch Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Mojo, Kami, and I went. And then we swore a blood oath never to share the details of the horror ever again. Quote
Zacker Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Judging from your posts I assume that I should not go see it? Quote
Grinwhrl Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Video game movies always suck. But i heard this one was pretty ok ok from alot of doom fans, which is really wierd. Their main complaint was that it wasnt about Hell but a virsue or geinom. Quote
D3ads Posted October 30, 2005 Author Report Posted October 30, 2005 Damn, it's that bad? Or are you all looking for masterpieces when you watch a film? Someone who watched it over in New york told me that the locations, computer screens and monsters were just like Doom 3... Quote
Section_Ei8ht Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 I actually like it. I went into the theater expecting just a god awful movie as the trailer did the final film no justice. If you go in there expecting a carbon copy of the doom story, or if you go in there expecting some kind of philisophical movie that has some kind of a point to it, you WILL be dissapointed. However, if you go in there simply because you want to see a sci-fi movie with a mix of horror, action, and a little comedy, then you wont be dissapointed. I would have to agree with a few reviews that this would have to be The Rock's first bearable movie. Sure, there are some meaningless subplots and cliche'd jokes and one liners, but as i said, thats the kind of movie it is. Think of a cross between Aliens, Resident Evil, and the Doom videogames, and that is pretty much what Doom is. If you liked two of the three, go see it. If you didnt like any of them, go see The Weather Man (also a great film). I recommend it to everyone who has played the original doom. See it once in theaters. I give it somewhere between 7 and 8 out of 10, and yes, I probably will buy the DVD when it comes out. Quote

Kosmo Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 I heard that most people who saw it are dead because of murder suicide pact they made, most of the people were survivors from The Rocks earlier attempt to kill them with bad acting from Scorpion King and Be Cool. Quote
