Lee3dee
I'm going to join in with ReNo. There's a 3D artist position thats opened up in my area, and I'm working on a website to show off my work. Using the link that kleinluka gave last week. I tired to make everything load fast and show graphics and wireframes. Only the level design sections work at the moment. I'm working on it all day, so i'll let you know whats new as far as updates. http://art.lee3dee.com/
von*ferret
too much clicking! I'm going to redo my site and make it very much... a 1 page thing like a resume.
kleinluka
None of the links work except one. Thumbnails don't work yet. The mainpage is just a "welcome" site and pretty much pointless. You could already have art on there and spare the visitor an extra click. Make sure you put that little footnote with your name and e-mail on every subpage. Indicate what job you are looking for. This needs to be very clear. For in-game pictures or scene renders where you did SOME work but not ALL of it, indicate clearly which art pieces on the pictures were made by you and give credit to the other people whose work you are displaying. Lee3dee
von*ferret: I like that idea of the 1 page resume. kleinluka: Nothing works yet, im still building it Re-working it again, from your points. Should I keep the thumbnails at 400x300 or drop them lower? as far as the ingame shots, all artwork is by me, the level designer placed them in the level. So, i'll include him also. kleinluka
they are 320x240 right now. make sure the full-size ones are at least 800x600. also, when i go in level design section and click on the duck-hunting game it opens a new window. don't do that. keep everything in one window (except for clicking thumbnails). von*ferret
does anyone know how to code it so that when you click a thumbnail a window opens up the size of the picture and you can click the picture to close the window? Seems like a good way to to do it to me

kleinluka
I dunno, but why dont you check the html source of a site that does this?
Kreigore
Heres a simple java script I found to do the image popup windows. This part goes in above your <body> tag and below your tag. <script language=javascript> </script> And here is how you link the images (I used one of your images as an example) to the script:
I hope it helps you, I found it on one of my old websites. Lee3dee
website changed. Less clicking, quick view of artwork. I still have to link the thumbnails, but everything loads quick and is easy to navigate. Some links are still work-in-progress. http://art.lee3dee.com/

Lee3dee
von*ferret: hehe thanks. Someone over at polycount said it didn't fit with my other work, unless he was in a level. So he will return in a UT2004 level Changes: Removed the BLOG page I kept the tutorials page because there are very few detailed tutorial for using the Torque engine, especially with pictures. Game Art section has been scaled back. Dragon is gone, but he will be making an appearence in my UT2004 level soon. hehe. I also made the tank page show alot bigger pictures and some render with and without normal mapping. This section looks a little bare. The Environment art page got redone, instead of clicking all those screenshots, I now have 1 montage image, that you can click to goto all the screenshots. Saves the visitor from constantly clicking. Contract work also got revamped, with descriptions for each of the pieces of work. Tested the site in IE and Firefox and everything seems to be ok. Let me know what you think. ReNo
I think you should have the links open in the same window rather than a new one. If you do want to keep it as a popup, try that javascript code Kreigore gave to make it a bare window with only the content, and shape it so it only uses the amount of space necessary, a la snarkpit's screenshot stuff (click a thumbnail and you'll see)... http://www.snarkpit.net/maps.php?map=2299
kleinluka
the picture with your tank..i cant see much of a different between normal mapped and non-normal mapped version. the tank is very dark and rendered on a bright background :X
