von*ferret Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 I'm sitting here studying for my 20th century art history exam, and I am wondering how my denizens at mapcore study. You guys have any secret tips that help you remember crap? I'm using flashcards and listening to classical music ~ Quote
Pericolos0 Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 this may be stupid as you probably should not be touching your pc but what i always do is chat with buddies from class and play a trivia game about the subject . Works very well for remembering important details and facts Quote
Schmung Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 I.m singularly awful at studying. I can't ever remember shit about details, facts of figures. Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 i never really study for anything, if anything reading the text book helps me Quote
Kosmo Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 You have to figure out your learning pattern, mine is cognitive so I usually just do what I'm studying, like back at school we had to learn how to use photoshop so I just fiddled around with it and learned way faster than I would have if I just were reading some book about it. Section_Ei8ht Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 most of my studying is for science and math classes, so I just do practice problems and create my own problems and solve them. A subject like art history, I'd just read over my notes for about 30 minutes and then rewrite them, and read them over again. Tis what I did for my art history class. walked out with an easy A. Quote

Bic-B@ll Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 youre just not trying hard enough Quote
DanielAragon Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 this might sound retarded, but for 4 years, i had to remember random french words and their english meanings...if you can make up a jingle using the subject, itll help... the only thing i remember from french is remarquez means to notice (you would notice a marker) (it worked for me, even though it sounds childish Quote
JynxDaddy Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 I summarize my text book and notes, do questions. I haven't found a way that really work for me yet, I just try and ram all that crap into my head. Oh and for classes like my Information Systems class, I think of my own examples (not using examples from the teacher/notes is the trick here) for different things. Quote
Kosmo Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Well, if you can't actually do something in the subject, I'd read and write down the most important things, that way it is recorded to my memory through motoric action. Quote
Mazy Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Usually when I was studying for exams I'd just turn off the computer completely, take out the power plug and put it away somewhere thats really difficult to get to. Then I'd read away until I thought I really deserved a break. As for remembering, I didnt. Ive always been horrible in these situations where Ive read and just had to remember it, not because I wanted to know the stuff I was reading. So the result was quite sad at most of my exams D: Quote

GrayFox Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 95% of my exams are physics and math. I don't have the luxury of trying to remember things anymore, I have to understand everything. Quote
