Blunkka Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 Training some weapon modellin mainly for the texturing purpose. Anyway got the model somewhat finished up. It's not perfect I know but as I just mentioned I wanna get to the texturing part. Quote
CyanideCotdPnuts Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 I'm no expert, but the gun looks a tad on the inaccurate side. Also, it's extremely thin. Quote
InsaneSingingBlender Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 thin, and the texture is a bit cloudy Quote
Kamikazi! Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 Yes, way too thin. http://www.galleryofguns.com/shootingti ... ttlpic.jpg Quote
Blunkka Posted October 11, 2005 Author Report Posted October 11, 2005 Hmm it's just so typical that whenever pics are attached some people just look at the pics without noticing what the text says. Anyway here's some progress made: Quote
von*ferret Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 no text was attached other than you saying its not perfect? Take the criticism, may not appreciate it but they're only trying to help Quote
Kamikazi! Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Hmm it's just so typical that whenever pics are attached some people just look at the pics without noticing what the text says. Or I could say it is so typical for you to disregard help...but you posted this in a WIP forum which usually means you want critique. Quote
kleinluka Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Got nothing to add to what has been said. Don't post in WiP forum if you don't want people to crit your work. The metal looks too cloudy as has already been mentioned and lacks typical metallic features. It looks more like rubber at the moment. Quote
Blunkka Posted October 11, 2005 Author Report Posted October 11, 2005 Yea people interpret things differently. I was more sorta expecting comments on the texturing part. But I'm not quite getting the rubber thing here? Are you meaning plastic? Quote
von*ferret Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 you need to paint on highlights or a specular map to get away from the plastic feel. Than you need to remove the cloudiness because metal doesn't look like that often. Quote
st0lve Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 waaaaay to slim to be used ingame I'd say. And low poly? Wires plz~ Quote
Blunkka Posted October 12, 2005 Author Report Posted October 12, 2005 Just for practise it's my first weapon. And it doesn't have too much optimization since it's not meant to be in a game. I'd say it has some 1000 polys (in tris i thing it goes beyond 2000) Quote
von*ferret Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 as potential game designers you should always build something with the intention of seeing it ingame. Quote
