DD Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 And no, English is not my native language, sometimes I write words wrong out of habit even if I know how they are really written. Congrats, you write english very well. I wish I knew more foriegn languages. Correction, in Europe we don't necessarily work towards wealth and success by the expense of others, but we all have equal chance for it. Our common good means that we all have equal right for education, the social security backs us up, most parts of Europe works through this rules, every man is created equal, unlike USA that has severe problems in that area. Well the government here has the same idealogy but doesn't support it very well, as I am sure isn't exactly perfect in EU countries either. The problems however are not severe. Personally I do not believe everyone is equal, and never will. You are just an elitist Thanks! What if your momma and poppa didn't have money to get you proper education? I paid for most of my schooling before leaving for work. I am and can pay for the rest of it. It's difficult to work and go to school but people do it. I don't believe anyone is stuck in a hole, they're just not self-motivated enough to fix their problems. Unless of course they're stricken with down syndrome or some life illness. But yes my parents could pay for my education, I just refused most of it. In Europe that wouldn't have been anykind of problem, and in Scandinavia you'd still get the highest education, regardless of your wealth. What if you didn't get a job with your education because the job market sucks? Well, in Europe you'd be still able to live, and have a good healthcare. Sick? Again, not a problem. Well I'm glad to be an American. We don't force hard working talented people to support waste bags, at least not as bad. We still have temporary unemployment support and medical, I wish not. If there were no jobs, which I doubt, I would create my own. If even still there was no need then I would move to America. No I am not destroying America, its the rare self motivated hard working people that create and pump money into the economy. Societies that allow people to live off the government are doomed to failure, taxing and put too much burden on the few who work, and rewarding the scum. I think it's sad that you believe otherwise.
RD Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 DD, money is just money. In europe we havent forgotten that money isnt the highest good. You exist at the mercy of such people, that have achieved real things other than getting a job and surviving in a spoiled society. Your whole reasoning is so weak that any european bum can smother it in an argument. I will share the secret of life with you, its happiness. You make money to buy stuff so you can be happy. But in the US, you make money to survive, you have defeated the purpose of living for many people. Here in europe we prefer to be happy constantly, and not just the remaining 130 workfree hours of the week. Also we dont like to worry about our financial situation constantly, afraid of getting sick or any setbacks. Unbelievably enough, it has given us the wealthiest, happiest and most tolerant societies of the planet. Even the wastebags here are happy, and have it financially awesome Shoving them into the gutter isnt productive, and happy people work better.
Kosmo Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 Ofcourse we can see from the situation in France that not all European countries have things so good for everyone, but my view of healthy society isn't France by a long shot, I'm not 100% sure, but I think Germany has way more immigrants than France and they seem to be ok with the situation in there. Not taking care of the "waste bags" is just the biggest problem in the world, you have be very naive not to see it, those "waste bags" were people once, but something changed and their life went down the drain, now they have become those people because your goverment doesn't take care of them, and they don't have any way to get back on their feet. They need to resort to stealing just to eat something, it's a crime done out of need, a need created because you just want things for yourself and fuck care about the poor guy over there. That is what I ment when I said that you are destroying your own society. We had a lecture when I was in the training center when I went to do my civilservise - in America you do civilservice because you comitted a crime, in Finland you do civilservice because you don't want to go to army, funny - and there was this traveller guy who has spent large part of his life travelling around the world and working for various causes like digging a well in Africa and cleaning oil spills and such. He had visited alot of third world countries and his view was that those people were way happier there without any money than we are in western countries with our money and all this shit. He took Cuba as an example, even with the situation - mostly created by the US embargo - the people were way happier than people are generally in here, and those people actually liked the country the way it was, something many Finnish have seen from Madventures aswell. People actually cared about each other and worked for common goal.
