Steppenwolf Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 No they have their own engine. It looks very good imo. Will definately buy it. Quote
Hipshot Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 Wasn't cod based on D3 engine? No, they deved thier own. Good thing they kept a Q3 styled console. I hate when games, like Serious Sam, uses console commands picked from a c++ manual. Quote
von*ferret Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 man I miss the days with badmofo =( anyhoo must download! Quote
Phatsniper Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 I'm a huge cod fan and I really enjoyed the demo, I loved the graphics but I can understand why some are put off. What I don't like is the consoley feel, the grenade indicators and jump over this wall buttons but I guess cross platform development is becoming more popular (much to my disgust). Quote
von*ferret Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 Friggin loved it. Not just trying to suck up to an old friend of mine, but he made a crazy level. Atmosphere was just leaking from my computer!!!! Quote
Alf-Life Posted September 29, 2005 Author Report Posted September 29, 2005 Yeah, I know, COD >>> MOH. Quote
D3ads Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 I watched a video of the new beach landing section, really fucking cool, I like the whole rope climbing thing. I noticed I just exceed the minimum specs so I might be able to play this demo! Quote
jayrabbit Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 What I don't like is the consoley feel, the grenade indicators and jump over this wall buttons but I guess cross platform development is becoming more popular (much to my disgust). Acutally the grenade indicator was very usful because sometimes it was hard to see the grenades. Also the jump-over button was cool in my opinion. Just because PC games are getting more like console games it doesn't mean that the gameplay is getting simple. Of course COD2 is a true fps and there are not even team commands or something like this, but if you play it in "hard" mode you can get into some really tricky sitations, where you have to look for a good cover position, perfect shoot-and-cover timing, throwing smoke grenades, and more... In my opinion that's the future of computer gaming: user-friendly, intuitive controls BUT deep and complex gameplay experience. COD2 is a step in the right direction. (Of course there are more games like this already available) Quote
