The first area of the demo demonstrates some really ridiculous use of clipping. It's not just clipping edges with fatal drops, but blocking you from accessing areas you can clearly jump to. Quote
Hourences Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Demo has more of such type of problems, liked the original more It runs slow, the style is too flashy for me and hard on my eyes and I got iritated from the jumpad jumping game.. I also managed to get stuck on some platform after I landed on it with my aircraft. My aircraft disappeared and I got stuck so had to commit suicide. Thats really bad level design or else Im missing something.. If I can reach it there must be a second way to continue in case you decide to leave or crash your aircraft Quote
skdr Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 It crashed for me. Mouselook didnt work. Sensitivity was way too high even on the lowest settings. When I got the mouselook to work, it crashed. When I decided to try it again, the sounds were fucked. I uninstalled it. Quote

The art and design style has nothing on the original Serious Sam, and the level design is tedious and illogical - thanks to the clipping mentioned earlier. The full game may be superior in parts, but I won't be getting it to find out - they blew it with the demo. Quote

This was on my top 5 most wanted list, I doubt I'll even buy it now unless I spot it on sale. On the good side it's made me reinstall Second Encounter Quote
