Minos Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I'm sure most of us would install HL¹ again just to play it Quote
Section_Ei8ht Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I'm telling you, they're turning Nightwatch into Diakatana. Quote
Captain P Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Same here, I'd install HL again to play NW. But, I still have HL installed so skip that first part. I just hope they'll continue... Quote
Skjalg Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I'm with ferret on this one. I dont see the point of them stopping the hl1 version and wasting all the work. Oh well Agreed, this is like Quote
D3ads Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 they should've just focused on releasing a hl1 version and not a hl2 in my opinion. So they have actually gone to source properly now? Such crap, it'll never see the light of day now for sure, like you said it should be a HL1 project. I notice you lot are on about reinstalling HL1, it's never left my computer, it's HL2 that went out of the window because Steam is bollocks. Quote
Campaignjunkie Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 It was a little more complicated than polishing off a few maps. While there was a good amount playable (Adam's stuff especially), there was also a lot that wasn't (err, mine, among others). I'm not really exactly condoning the act of throwing the work away, but you have to understand that staff turnover was absurdly high and not much was getting done with HL2 sitting in front of everyone. It's like telling someone to keep watching black & white television when a High-Def widescreen is sitting next to him. Quote
Captain P Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Hmm, that's understandable, CJ. So, what's going on right now then? Is the port getting along fine or...? There's not a lot of news on the site these days... Quote
Zacker Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 they should've just focused on releasing a hl1 and not a hl2 in my opinion, a lot of people on the NW team now doesn't have complete work. I really agree on that. If they had not shifted to Source, then we could maybe have the HL1 version done by now. Instead they got nothing done and I am beginning to loose my respect for them, at least the way it is being lead. Quote
Campaignjunkie Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 So, what's going on right now then? Is the port getting along fine or...? There's not a lot of news on the site these days... I really wouldn't know, I left months ago. They're doing some sort of restructuring, apparently. I'm sure they'll figure something out though, PV and the team are very resourceful people. Quote
D3ads Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 There's not much being said on the forums either so most are just assuming that it's dead, I can always see if I can get any sense from Professional Victim when I'm next on IRC... Quote
Zacker Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Yeah judging from the forum talk it is dead. Quote
