Znski Posted April 12 Report Posted April 12 (edited) Wake is now available on the Steam Workshop! Here is the link to the workshop page: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3238911118 A site: B site: Mid angles: I will be working on a map set in a water park. I have a vision of a tornado bowl as one of the routes you take off spawn. I want to have a fun Vent system like nuke. I enjoy the consequences of sounds being made so I want to incorporate a squeaky door and breakable vents. I have a concept mini map that I drew up a while ago I want to base it off of, most of the notations on it are all just concepts I thought might be cool but as I build it out I feel some of it won't end up working like it did in my brain. Also as I've started building it I'm finding the scaling of the map is a hard thing to nail down. I will build out an idea and then load into the map and feel like an ant. After working on this a little I'm feeling better about how it may end up looking even if its just the start of a grey box. Yes that does look like Thor's Hammer. Maybe it will change but Maybe the theme of the Tornado bowl is Mjolnir's Revenge or something. also realizing now how hard it's going to be to make a tornado bowl. Hammer is very intuitive I am enjoying this learning process. Edited April 13 by Znski Freaky_Banana 1 Quote

MrTrane18 Posted April 15 Report Posted April 15 I read the name and thought - water sports. As there is wake board you can ride as well. Also notice that water maps are generating as well. Question is, is it inspired by Poolday CS2? Best of luck in the project! Znski 1 Quote

I have returned from a week of youtube learning and we have a fully working map (the bare minimum). I figured out decals and Ladders and let me tell you chefs I am cookin. Having fun learning as I go. I am eager to get this into a state where It looks as good as I imagine it in my brain. Quote

I do love the map pool day, but my reasons for choosing a waterpark is purely out of my own love of waterparks like raging waters and hurricane harbor. I just have a very clear vision of how I would love this map to look so I want to try and make that a reality. MrTrane18 and Lukyvald 2 Quote

Don't be attached to your work. My Initial blocking out was proving to be a VERY large map Timing wise. So I deleted nearly all of it. Here is a reworked version of the map so far Quote

Here is a reworked version of the map so far I have fully blocked out the map!! woo. Time to refine timings, angles, cover, visibility and much much more. I am eager to get it into a play-testable state. I am excited for how it has started to come out. AlphaOwl and z0ro4rk 2 Quote
