curman Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 hey, someone told me awhile back that in a book on half-life 2 stated they used no photosourcing on the face (and I think the clothing/body) does anyone know if this is true on not? thanks Quote
insta Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 I'm pretty sure they used photosourcing for all the faces. In the Raising the bar book there's pictures of the in-game models and the real-life "inspiration". Don't know about the clothes though Quote
JynxDaddy Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 On 1up.com they say the old man from Lost Coast is the first character not based off an actor. Quote
OL Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 they arent photosourced though, they painted em Quote

D3ads Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 I'm pretty sure they're photosourced, but a great deal was probably painted as well like the Max Payne 2 skins.. Quote
Irish Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 heh, i find that hard to believe tbph. but hey i don't know. who did they base the gman on anyway G-man's face is based off a guy named frank sheldon, "World-renowned Alexander Technique Practitioner", he's also a chubby version of G-man http://www.alexandertechnique.com/articles/sheldon/ Heres his pic from "Raising The Bar" http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/7642/gman4mm.jpg Quote

Minos Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Yeah that's actually some interesting stuff. Quote
Irish Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Its well worth the 20 or 30 bucks it cost. Theres alot of info in there, a ton of concept art, plus some of the early HL stuff is pretty funny. It also covers dod and cs/ cs:s Quote
D3ads Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 That is really amazing and slightly scary at the same time I need to pickup a copy of that book methinks... Quote
