PS_Mouse Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 First thing I thought of looking at that was the grimier bits of the x-men legends games, and not in a bad way. Looks like something that might fit well into a similar type of game, especially as a level prop for an isometric sort of thing... Maybe not what you're aiming for, though :X I made it as a background piece for a bit of art that I'm going to do. So it's a bit unsuited to be a game prop (~500 polys, 1024x1024 skin). But yeah, I can see a more optimised version as a level prop (my sister thought it looked very morrowind). Quote
The Postman Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 http://paintedover.com/uploads/show.php?loc=26&f=male_character1.jpg I did the texture and various edits to the structure and UV Map (added the tie and also reshaped the head quite a bit). It's for my zombie game Quote
kleinluka Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I like it but i think his skin looks too dead. Needs some more colours to give it life. Quote
The Postman Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Kinda aiming for a pale, shocked, scared and panicked look. However, I'll take the suggestion to heart and see what he looks like with a little more (and warmer) saturation. Quote
st0lve Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 Nice posty Yeah he doesn't look that dead yet D:! Its prolly cause I'm used to Games-Workshop zombies... Quote
ReNo Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 Updated the model a little, unwrapped it, and started skinning. Note that skinning is my utter weak point, so don't expect wonders even when I've spent more time on it Also keep in mind that this is for a top down racing game where the camera wont ever be as close to the car as this screenshot is. Enough excuses, the picture... EDIT: Another skin, for better or worse. I need to learn how to render things nicely - any time do it it looks worse than the viewport displays Quote
csharp Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 nice work there! This lowlowlowverylowpoly television was just a unwrapping test! Textures made in ~5min and model ~5min so i made it in ~10min Would someone tellme how can i put .mdl to hl2 props? (i have .smd exporter, and i have compiled it to a model, and that texture file..) anyway, i know that the render is crappy, but its under hard training here we go: i know this is a waste of good texturespace, but i dont care! Minos Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Looks cute reno <3 csharp: Try this, its pretty simple to use http://www.chaosincarnate.net/cannonfod ... iocompiler Quote
teeluu Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Dunno where did my chinese cooking knife -thread go, but i've now unwrapped the whole shit and made some kinda skin. Skin is still very rare and needs a lot of work, anyway i decided to show this at this point since it's my first model and (wip)skin Quote
von*ferret Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 scratches and highlights on the blade. Handle needs some wear and tear. Not too much but atm its spotless and boring. Also can use some highlights on the wood grain. IE not the whole thing be specular, but have the wood be specular like shiny wood looks. I dont make sense. Quote

I was going to make it scratchy and dirty but since this i was only doing the base texture. It's going to have bolts and stuff. Let's see what i can do in few days. Quote
teeluu Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 I am at school and i had nothing to do so i started doing the skin all over again, lot better than the one i posted last night, i'll show this one when i get home. EDIT: So i made it completely again, it's still very wip.. i hope. No normal map yet of course. Quote
