I wanted to do a model based on concept art , I was looking for a player model but could not find any reference images with front and side views but stumbled upon this

stuff from a old canceled mod I was part of and desided to give it a go instead.

Its a dropship that carries modules.

6134 triangles, by far my most complex model so far and my wrist hurts from making it :P

Not bad, are you just using TF2 textures?

Yeah I extracted the wood and dirt textures, and I've been piecing them onto the stamped UV and then overlaying a baked AO map on top of it.

Well time for a second go at a low poly character.

And this time under the 500 tris limit!

I still have some more detailing to do on the texture, such as the arm joints that are just a plain color right now. But I want to model his weapon first.

Edit:

Well, I've fixed the proportions a bit and finished the material, weapon and rigging.

Learned a bit more, am pleased :)
