AlexM Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 yeah maybe just check on final gather in the mental ray settings, that would probably help quite a bit Quote
nooki Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 hi guys, did some bump/displacement tests, working with max & zbrush: Quote
I3yG-MaK Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Try to add some fine detail using textures and Photoshop normal map plugin to convert it. Quote
nooki Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 thx yeah it was my first try to put some details in zbrush on the model and do polypainting. also used the applink plugin for this, pretty cool. But the bump and texture map turned out some kind of blurry, i`ll have to do some more tests. So is it better to paint the normal map in photoshop than model details in zbrush and export this as a normal map? Quote
I3yG-MaK Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 For details like fur/hair and things like that, yes, its better photoshop. Cause you will never get the poly intensity to "sculpt" it on azbrush Quote
Pomperi Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 A prop I've modeled that I textured last night =) 340 tris and 1024x1024 diffuse texture Quote
Nurb Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 Awesome work pomp! You have improved alot. Is this for a personal project or a certain mod? Quote
-HP- Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 yep, good difuse. I wanna see the spec and proper illumination now! Quote
Pomperi Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 Thanks guys! I made it mostly for fun. I'm also planning on using it as an example model for a lecture I'm holding at the university of skövde in texturing this month. The easier model the easier it is to follow the process of applying materials, definition and details and so on. If you wanna use it in Decadence that's fine by me could replace my old chunks Quote
nooki Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 yeah nice diffuse, like this alot! im working on some SciFict models. First steps: big: http://bildupload.sro.at/a/images/render_barrel_big.jpg bump is still in wip, looks kind of crappy edit: 770 polys Quote
Meotwister Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 pump jack I'm workin on as a centerpiece model for a map. Now I get to UV it! Quote
