DomiX Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 hi there, last week when I was deleting some useless files on my hard drive, I found Gmax ^^ never really used it, I was just messing around with it...but last week I thought: why not trying to gain some experience in modeling... and this WIP is what I made so far: the ear looks a bit weird after meshsmooth, but, you know, its still a wip ;-) btw, head and body are 2 different files, but I dont know how to get the 2 parts into one file....can anybody help me? KIIIA Posted January 21, 2006 Author Report Posted January 21, 2006 btw, head and body are 2 different files, but I dont know how to get the 2 parts into one file....can anybody help me? Export one Model as .3ds and import it in the other scene. Thats how i use to do it! Quote
hessi Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 the ears are extremly false. yours are like a beveled ring. human ears don't look like that. the nose is too long. the forehead has no crinkles like that in a neutral pose. your should add more loops too. take a closer look on your references. maybe the wires of my head will help you: Quote
hessi Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 the edges from a front view. the facial muscles flow like the thick lines. the thin lines show how your quad polygons should flow. keep on it, man! Quote
Spellbinder Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Ok i HAVE to ask. You show me this the other day on IRC. Did you do this in a 3d app? In that case it is awsome! If not i don't exactly know how to react!? Spellbinder. Quote
General Vivi Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 thats a daily reminder for us men to stop the flakes. Quote
nico Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 got a bit inspired by some warhammer figures, beasts of chaos to be more accurate. Its supposed to be those who sort of looks like goat-men or something. All very WIP at the moment, and sorry for the render if its too dark, had to render it pretty fast as i had to catch a train. Will perhaps show a wire tomorrow if its desired. And btw, the leather-strap thingy i intended to have various armor pieces on looks like shit, i know will fix it asap... oh well, here we go: http://img22.imageshack.us/full.php?image=chaosbeast0ee.jpg edit: (if you think his head looks like shit its because he is wearing some sort of cloth-thingy over his head, will do a closeup render tomorrow perhaps) Quote
von*ferret Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 nico that is friggin hot. Just use a better render next time. I know you're trying to evoke a mood, but it doesn't let us see any real detail. Quote
nico Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 as promised, the wire: http://img90.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wirechaos5jj.jpg will post progress at the end of the day. Thanks alot for the kind words ferret! will do next render with better light setting. Quote
