Set for my Russian themed animation. The frame has gone through post processing so looks how it will in the final animation. Its pre rendered but its aiming for a next gen game style. So polycounts are not insane anywhere.

damn, that's a lot of trees in the background :)

Nicely done sir!

Love all the grass :)

Not a uberfan of your overall lighting tho. Even if the colours are nice but I think there's something with the fog that makes it not feel as huge as it could do.

Background trees are just planes, purely to keep render times down. At the moment its just one type of tree and texture. I have lots of textures for trees in the works. I plan on making a much more varied forest then.

Tomdon, that looks hot but I think the colors are way too washed out. I did a quick photoshop job on the picture for you to see what I'd like to see in the scene. More contrast, some glow bloom and saturation changes, all this can be done via composition postprocessing.

Just a suggestion. I don't know if you're shooting for a washed out colors etc for this scene but I think it can look alot better with some more editing.

Shooting for cold and wind swept. Trying to keep it as subdued as possible, later scenes in the animation are going to have light snowfall. Yeh, so in conclusion, I can see what your shooting at, but it isn't the look I am going for. Rough kind of idea is the battle at the start of gladiator, that kind of cold colours etc.

i love the color variations in the grass! When you squint your eyes, they make the screen feel like a photo. However, the trees do not have this, and you could make it look perfect by giving the trees thesame attention to color as you did with the grass. I'm also not too fond of the pixely look of the trees in the background, it would be awesome if you could find a way around that :).

for the rest: awesome!!!!

Looks really cool except for the shadows on the road. If its cold and wind swept as you say then you need to blur the shadows out, low sun angle + cold cloudy day shouldn't = uber sharp shadows.

Besides that I think you're hittin the cold look pretty nicely. Nice.
