SonicClang Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Don't know if you guys know hipshot, but he suggested that I come and register here and join the discussions. I'm not a mapper, but I hang out in level editing forums all the time. I used to make levels, but stopped doing that when I realized the music I was putting in my levels was better than the levels themselves. I started making music for other peoples' Quake 3 levels last April, and hipshot was one the guys I worked with. Since March of this year (05) I've been working on the Classic Doom 3 mod as part of Flaming Sheep Software. I've spent the last 6 months working on remaking all the music from the first episode of Doom 1. It's been a lot of fun, and a huge challange. Well, I guess this is just my way of introducing myself. Hopefully I can contribute to the conversations, and possibly I may end up making music for someone's level. -Sonic Clang Quote
ReNo Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 After hipshot's favourable introduction and gifts I think he's pretty well loved round these parts now Cool to have a game musician on the site - always good to have a broad range of talents in a community. Welcome to mapcore Quote
SonicClang Posted August 24, 2005 Author Report Posted August 24, 2005 Thanks ReNo. I agree, it's good to have a community of well rounded talents. Quote

Kosmo Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 I've spent the last 6 months working on remaking all the music from the first episode of Doom 1. First of all, welcome to the core, I hope you enjoy your stay. Second, I really love the music in Doom1 and I really hope that you release your stuff in mp3 format for all to enjoy, you are doing gods bidding there Quote
Minos Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 mazzle is teh funny today eh welcome btw Quote
SonicClang Posted August 24, 2005 Author Report Posted August 24, 2005 Thanks guys. This seems like a very welcoming place. I've been to some pretty nasty boards, where people immediately try to "defend their home turf" by letting you know you're not very welcome for a while. kosmo, I too loved the music from the original game. Really, it changed me. It inpsired me. And most of all, I feel it really made that game great. I'll definitely release the songs when I'm done as mp3 or ogg. Actually, if you have Winamp you could listen to some of them now. It's ok for me to show you the songs that are in the current release. The ones in the next release are secret though... Classic Doom 3 Theme song: Download E1M1 Download , oh yeah, is there any song better? E1M5 Download . Another great song. Well there's a taste of them. Just let me know if you want to hear any more. KungFuSquirrel, sup? It's good to see an actual local guy on the net. I actually know a level designer at Raven... pjw. Raven rocks! The new buildling is amazing. It's JUST the kind of place I'd love to work. Quote
Zacker Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Welcome! Yep, I still got the music from Doom on my hdd as it is still fantastic:) E3M9 and Endmission are among my favorites. Quote
