Doom III leaves sour taste in my mouth...

Overrated, and I don't think I'll buy it. Might give the demo a try, but I dont really need to play an updated doom.

Now I might try and learn how to map for the engine though...

egni i am sorry to bust your bubble but when was the last time ID software made a game like doom???? I can tell you when it was when they made Doom.... ID does not make games they make technology engines... carmack has even said that..... He just chose the doom title because it draws a crowd.

True and all, the classics are .. well, classics. But, when I think of Doom 3 I think of Unreal 2 (ugh). It's probably going to be a half assed story iwth a pretty engine.

Also I'm not liking all these games that are like Look im so dark that you need to hav a flashlight highlighting my bump mapping every step of the way. i hate having to strain to see wtf is going on (aka AvP).
