Kosmo Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Again, another game Rockstar is making has stirred up controversy. Are they just testing their luck or what is this all about? I'm really getting tired of this and Rockstar is actually making the situation worse with their shenanigans, their factory of controversial games are going to get violent games banned all around the globe and what the hell are we going to play then? marque_pierre Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Regardless of what you might think personally, Rockstar's PR strategies buys them more word of mouth than even EA could ever afford to buy via advertisements. Makes good business sense... Quote
Kosmo Posted August 4, 2005 Author Report Posted August 4, 2005 Regardless of what you might think personally, Rockstar's PR strategies buys them more word of mouth than even EA could ever afford to buy via advertisements. Makes good business sense... I agree, it has been very long since some movie or game has stirred media this much. But I'm just afraid that the conservative politicians are shooting them down and Rockstar is feeding the belt. Quote

mike-0 Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 I don't get it. I went to EB games the other day and asked the guy if they were still selling GTA:SA. He said yea, but to even look at it, you had to present an ID showing that you were at least 18. The reason for this - a sex scene in a game. But in movies, there's sex scenes all the time. And i could go buy one of these movies right now, if i wanted to (im only 15). But when a video game has a sex scene, everyone shits themselves. If they eventually do put a ban on video games, then they need to take some movies off the market, like Clockwork Orange and anything else in that category of... um... innappropriateness. The ESRB is run by some bitch who is PMS'ing 24/7. They need to realize this and kick her ass out. Attention moms around the world, hillary clinton, and the pms'ing bitch who runs ESRB - SHUT THE FUCK UP. Quote

Lee3dee Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Being Bully'd in high school in England, I can tell u that I think this game with increase people getting picked on, now there's a game based it. It will get banned, more copies will sell and then someone will sue rockstar again, so they will make a sequel called "Bully 2: payback is a Botch!" Quote
user Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 I don't get it. I went to EB games the other day and asked the guy if they were still selling GTA:SA. He said yea, but to even look at it, you had to present an ID showing that you were at least 18. The reason for this - a sex scene in a game. ...and the violence, the drug usage, criminal activity, etc that the rating shows. Some people seem to forget that it does have those, and think that the AO only means sex. And the media has given R* that reputation. They're the ones deciding to make rockstar look like a bad guy. I'm still surprised that JT hasn't attacked counter-strike, a game where you get to blow things up, hold hostagess, kill vips (if thats still in the game) as a terrorist*, and right now all uptight americans are like "omg terrorism is bad! support our troops!", so you'd think that someone would catch that. *even if you spend half the game preventing half of that shit. that doesn't matter. even in gta if you can spend time as a cop going after suspects, as a paramedic, as a fire fighter, all good things to help the city, it doesn't matter. /me emails JT about CS. even though it would 'advertise' cs like people think this whole thing with gta is making gta sale a lot more numbers, maybe more parents would realize that their 12 year old is blowing things up, and then hopefully get them to stop playing, you know, do a little parenting, something not going on with gta. Then maybe there may be a lot less little 12 year old twats in cs servers. Quote
