Will it be a great idea to start a new project?

I want to start a new projects but i am nervous about Source 2. If Source 2 update comes when I was middle of the project, what will going to happen?

No point to wait untill summer just to make layout and test it. Also I believe it won't be hard to export maps from source 1 to source 2
