Bush "Troubled" by Gay Marriages in SF

The problem people (at least Bush) have with gay marriage is nothing to do with people hating gays in the slightest.

It's because of religion...

You put this in the same argument. That's...just amazing.

marriage takes place in a big chapel, is carried out by priest and the vows are read out of a Holy Writ in front of a big statue of Jesus.

Not all marriages take place in a big chapel with all the hooplah, I could go to a court judge and get the paperwork and be married by a judge. Nevermind the fact that if it is so religious in nature our wonderful president shouldn't be forcing his fucking religious views on the rest of the nation.

Oh and bonus points for mentioning "irony" in your post.

Or you could go on Fox and marry a millionare, or a midget, or a slut, or a random stranger, or a zebra... no wait.. you can only race zebras on Fox, not marry them.

Don't forget the drive through places here in Vegas. Faster than Mcdonalds!

yes but you actually need to get the marriage licence in city hall before the ceremony

HOW TO GET A MARRIAGE LICENSE

No blood test or waiting period is necessary to obtain a marriage license in Las Vegas, Nevada. It takes about 10 minutes to get a license. The current license fee is $55.00. Our COURTESY limousine service will take you to the Marriage License Bureau to get your license upon request .

http://www.alittlewhitechapel.com/html/tunnel_of_love.html However, if you're homosexual, this is not allowed because it is un-christian, or in LV's case, un-mormon, and we should all be forced to follow their views. America the free! *heils fuhr Bush*

its about politics and elections ofcorse. DD if u were pres of the USA and u mention that homosexuality is fine, half the planet will cast wicca on u and ur dog. Bush is doing nothing to stop the mariages but at the same time hes not allowing it and not pissing off either christians or gays. Brilliance in its purest form!!!!

Bush is doing nothing? I would say suggesting a fucking Amendment to the constitution a major something.

EDIT: Ok a Fucking Amendment I would allow.

Pretty much every intelligent person I know supports pro-choice, meaning leaving the question of allowing gay marriage up to people, not the government. Yes a lot of idiots will be mad at me, but I wouldn't care.

You couldn't be more wrong. Bush is pushing for an amendment that specifically segregates homosexuals from being allowed to marry and he even wants to make it punishable. If he gets reelected this is guaranteed because republicans will rule the executive, legislative, and judiciary branches of government (several democrat judges are retiring).

For you geniuses that snipped away at my post opposed to actually reading it in context. I will restate it smaller for you to understand.

Christianity = biggest religion going (no shit)

Bush = Christian (GOD BLESS) + Wants to get votes in the elections.

And there's always the factor of the church outcry, BUT OMG DON'T MENTION RELIGION. IT'S NOT RELEVANT!!!111one. Not that the church is the only factor, just one no-one had brought up yet.

I never said anywhere that was the way it should be, I said that's the way it is. So you can fuck off with your "irony" and "close-minded" remarks.

Edit: And if any of you are jumping to conclusions, I'm not against gay marriage just because I pointed out why Bush is. If anything I'm for it.

Edit. Edit: http://grove.ufl.edu/~ggsa/gaymarriage.html this is obviously sarcastic, but it's also got a point.
