jaardsi Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 I've got pretty high hopes for Vista, it seems like it's going to a more OS X-ish direction with all that fancy new desktop stuff. IE7 might actually be an usable browser, there's the new Monad shell and the new filesystem is coming sometime too. Quote
Mazy Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 We can only hope this OS will unlock the raw power of human emotion on our computers! YOU MEAN IF IT WILL BE DRIVEN BY THE HUMAN ENERGY!!!! Beh http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1840482,00.asp Quote

IE7 might actually be an usable browser, there's the new Monad shell and the new filesystem is coming sometime too. OSX-ish in bling, nowhere near OSX-ish in power, the truth is that Apple computers are not that powerfull, but the OSX can harness the power of the computer and it doesn't waste anything, plus the perfect memorycontrol Windows machines are lacking. IE7 might be good, but as long as it doesn't support standards nor has tabbed browsing, it is just a prettier version of IE4, just like all IE versions since. I have heard alot of good things about Monad, and I'm waiting it to be something really good, Chris Sells seems pretty excited about it. Quote
Schmung Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 They should just call it Windows ME2 : This time it's really crap. Or possibly not, it might be really good, but the baggage of all this DRM/TCP/Palladium guff that surrounds it will drive people, even if the implications aren't as bad as some people have made out. They should ahve gone the road of Streetfighter and called it Windows EX 2 :Alpha Pro Turbo Challenge Edition. Everyone would buy that. Quote

Lurker Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 I'm content with sticking with Windows XP. If its much better, I might consider getting it. But from the improvements they've pointed out so far, it doesn't sound too big. Quote
