blackdog Posted August 16, 2021 Report Posted August 16, 2021 (edited) There are rumours that this could be for Valve a test bench for creating a fully integrated VR headset If offset doesn’t work for you, I was linking @7:10 Edited August 16, 2021 by blackdog Zarsky 1 Quote

Untethered is the way forward and having a chip that is able to run all the current Steam PCVR titles would be the best approach. blackdog 1 Quote

I was really tempted to get the untethered Oculus at some point, then i read about all the facebook integration policies and that was a no-no. Sad some companies are making exclusive titles for Oculus wish Valve supported studios like Ready At Dawn. Next step, have some contact pins with the device to jack in with the brain chips GabeN is working on with his son Zarsky 1 Quote

Serialmapper Posted October 19, 2021 Report Posted October 19, 2021 (edited) It will be a smashing success, like the steam machines, if anyone remembers them. Edited October 19, 2021 by Serialmapper blackdog 1 Quote

There’s to be said that those were subsidised, the overall ecosystem was less ready… Valve has now proven itself as an hardware maker, and these sold out right away. Several people here ordered one, I would have as well if it wasn’t so far away in launch. I don’t imagine they need a smashing success, probably it’s more a way to fund R&D for a wireless VR headset Quote
