user Posted July 5, 2005 Author Report Posted July 5, 2005 Arg... this must be a glitch For some reason, some icons keep changing, for example RD's went from R t o P, and ThePCNerd went from P to R. Also DelaZ went from D to G. Another possible glitch, rarely some items in the list move. I'm trying to keep it in alphabetical order, but yesterday I saw my name jump from bottom of list to the middle. (This just could be a result of me trying to reorganize names in such a tiny area, as only 10 names are visible at once so it requires scrolling) Not so much a glitch, if you see names or icons appear much smaller than other names, this is because when I set a city as a placemark, the city in question is a tiny city, and has a smaller scale, and this small scale transfers onto the new placemark. ReNo Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 ReNo North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland I don't have it installed so can't check if its there, but its a reasonably famous little town so you never know. If not just add me in Edinburgh, which is my nearest city. Quote

user Posted July 6, 2005 Author Report Posted July 6, 2005 i clicked it and just the source code came up. Did you read the directions on the first post? You have to manually add a network link in Google Earth, and COPY the url and paste it in the dialog. For others that may point this out, I know it's possible to have the other file format (KMZ) that opens Google Earth and inserts the custom placemarks, but that method is static, it does not update on its own. The network link option (which uses the KML file) is dynamic (it updates the contents), but requires that the user can follow directions. Hopefully the Google Earth devs can fix it so when browsers see KML files, it does the proper network link process rather than showing the source in the browser. And Ill add you three later when theres more people to add. Although, Minotauro, I looked the other day and couldn't find your city... or at least a city marker for it. Can you help me find it? Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 All updated Bic-B@ll, what's your city? I don't want to put the placemark on your house. For now I put you on Seaford (the closest city marker). For the people who either can't download Google Earth, can't get it to work, or for other reasons just don't have it, I have put up some screenshots on the original post. whats wrong with my house? le town is massapequa, the one to the east of seaford, the canal is the border :0~ Quote
