ARPT Posted November 23, 2020 Report Posted November 23, 2020 Hello, all my props are black in game, ive tried this wildfire update thing, but same thing, ive tried everything ive can but with no sucess, anyone else had this problem before? Quote
chezpuf Posted November 23, 2020 Report Posted November 23, 2020 I believe you need to add cube maps and render the map with lighting. If you do a fast render, they will be black. ARPT 1 Quote

If you do a fast render, they will be black. Cubemaps are never the requirement for anything other than getting specular reflections. Lighting, however, is important to have and unfortunately is required to have on by default (doing a fast VRAD or VVIS will result in black props). You don’t need to have -final on, but you will need -propstaticlighting. ARPT 1 Quote
csWaldo Posted November 25, 2020 Report Posted November 25, 2020 Use the expert full hdr settings. Make sure you don't have a leak and you have at least one functioning light entity. If that is a light_environment, make sure you have pointed it at your map. ARPT 1 Quote
ThunderKeil Posted November 25, 2020 Report Posted November 25, 2020 What @JorisCeoen said should be the solution, but he got a little mixed up. It's -staticproplighting, not -propstaticlighting. In case you're entirely unfamiliar with expert compile settings; Click [file] -> [run map] In the bottom left corner, click [Expert...] Under Configurations, select ''Fast'' (Yes, it's fine) Under Compile/run commands, click the line with $light_exe (the line, not the tickbox) add -staticproplighting in the Parameters box on the right (before the other parameters, not behind them (honestly not sure that matters but I recall being told it)) ARPT and JorisCeoen 1 1 Quote
