silver Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 Pink Floyd is getting reunited for the live8 concert http://www.pinkfloyd.com/home/15.html discuss Quote
Skjalg Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 its the greatest band ever !!!! was... some hundred years ago Quote
Kosmo Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 They were good back then they took acid like I drink this juice here. But these days they are just lame old guys. But on the bright side, I think they'll be playing the old songs that were made while tripping so it evens out nicely. Quote
Defrag Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Half of me is pleased to see it, the other half fears they're a bunch of old men that won't be able to rekindle the old magic. Waters' voice is allegedly totally shot, (or so I've read) so he can't really do solo stuff any more; this olive branch may pave the way for a reunion of sorts beyond the live 8 gig. I'm sure Geldof will be delighted, as PF are a band that truly transcend the generation gap (and pretty much every other gap you could care to mention), unlike a lot of older bands. Plus it'll be a huge coup in terms of publicity. I just hope they can set their egos aside and put on a good show, considering they've spoken through lawyers & the courts for the last God knows how long. Quote
silver Posted June 14, 2005 Author Report Posted June 14, 2005 it is indeed 24 years ago they joined together on a scene. But no, they are by no means old and outdated. Their CD's still sells more than anything else, and darkside of the moon is still no. 3 on the most sold album list. Think its Michael Jackson with thriller thats no. 1. Anwayz It will be an amazing event. Btw whats that stuff you are saying that he can solo anymore. He has been working on operas the past few years, while the other made one last CD The division bell. It was released like 11 years ago, so the band isnt that dead. They have also been touring (without Waters) ohh btw... Waters you are still an asshole, even though you are a genius when it comes to music Quote
Defrag Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 I simply mean he allegedly can't sing anymore, which obviously would limit his solo career (I never really cared for much of the solo stuff from either Waters or Gilmour anyway). As for PF, I'm not sure when their last tour was, but I'm fairly certain it's in the order of a decade ago. That's a fair amount of time Quote
Spellbinder Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 I heard on tuesday from a friend that they are going on a tour. If this is true or not i haven't checked yet. But it would be nice if it is. I heard at least 4 gigs they will do. 1 in Germany and the others i don't remember. To bad they aint coming to Sweden couse i would surely go. Spellbinder. Quote
D3ads Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 Some of my mates were slagging off the lineup and then as soon as Pink Floyd were announced they were constantly texting away in order to secure the tickets Quote
Crackerjack Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 OMG... This would honest complete my life... I have watched all of their DVD's lol.. I need to see them live haha that would be so awesome! Im going to try to see them. Quote
silver Posted July 2, 2005 Author Report Posted July 2, 2005 beautifull, just beautifull...!! Roger Waters has lost some of his voice, but it was still AMAZING !!! they started with breath (reprise) then Money followed by Wish you were here... they ended with Comfortably numb..... I dont know which of them was the best, I only know it was absolutly unbelievable ..!!!! Quote
Grin Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Found and bought two original PF lp-records, Dark Side of the Moon and a collection called "great dance songs" or something. Both are in very good condition, they're playing on the background right now. Yeah, PF is great music, hope I'll find Empty Spaces on an lp someday..wanna play it to my friends backwards Quote
