InsaneSingingBlender Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 We've been pretty quiet about Day of Defeat: Source in the last few weeks. But new information and images from DoD: Source will be made available starting next week, as we lead to its release. We've been steadily working away on this project, and we're excited to see what everyone thinks of what we've produced. In the coming weeks we'll also be releasing a Source revived version of Half-Life 1: Deathmatch. People who already own Half-Life 1: Source will receive this as a free download. Next Saturday, Valve's CEO and founder, Gabe Newell, will be giving the commencement speech at Southern Methodist University's Guildhall, a university program offering course work in game design. Two groups of students enrolled in the program will be releasing the Source MODs they produced during their term. More information on the games they've built is available on their websites: Eclipse: http://students.guildhall.smu.edu/eclipse/ Samurai Legends: http://students.guildhall.smu.edu/samurailegends/ wow, this is awesome. Zyn Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 More DoD:Source-media and Source HL1DM? I just wet my pants, sir... Quote
JynxDaddy Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 Am I right in thinking HL1DM: Source is just so they can add another number to the list of 'games' available on steam? Quote
sensee Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 omg that eclipse mod is the best looking mod i've seen so far on source! and it's already done! how comes that non of these guys ever showed up on a mod community site like erm mapcore... Quote
Skjalg Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 Eclipse actually looked pretty good! EDIT: The Eclipse video also looks hot! download! Quote
Marcos Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 lol that eclipse site smells TES layout rip, cool mod tho~ Quote
Zacker Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 Sounds great with some news abut DOD:Source and a Source version of HLDM. For some it may look like just another game to the list, but I am actually looking forward to HLDM. I have never come to like HL2DM nearly as much as I like/liked HLDM. Yeah, those mods look pretty good. Not beyond what you could expect from 16-17 dedicated students though. This SMU Guildhall course really sounds like something I would like to attend. Quote
Pericolos0 Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 that eclipse looks quite amazing cant wait to test it out Quote

sensee Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 I wonder if you have to be a Methodist to join that uni... At least they don't make bible games or something like THIS Quote
von*ferret Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 Eclipse looks interesting, the samurai one leaves something to be yearned for. Quote
Zacker Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 I looked up what Methodist ment on Wikipedia and it don't sound that scary. They are christian protestants. Back in history they did a lot to set the slaves in USA free. Quote
