Also upon doing research about this game apparently the bad guy is a giant dude who sprints at you full speed shooting rockets from a fucking rocket launcher? Pretty ridiculous... can’t wait to see how/if they can make that fun because it sounds like a design nightmare

It was awesome in the original one. He didn't has the rocket launcher everytime, just on some occasions.

The tension created by the Nemesis was really the core of the game, think of it as a super mister X but you can actually fight for extra loot if you take im down (but it was hard as fuck).

I can't wait for this game, this one really nailed the fact that you are in a big fucking town full of monsters. In some part of the game, you lost the confined gameplay from the 2 first games but it was a good thing imo.

True he did sprint, grab, tentacle you and shoot rockets at you but like... only one of those at a time so I guess is manageable???

That reminds me RE3 had contextual dodges... combine that to what we got in RE2R and I guess we're basically getting the RE4 control scheme at this point ?

Holy shit can't believe there's already that much work done on 3 when 2 came out less than a year ago... in total that'll be just 15 months of gap between the 2 releases, feels like this must have been in development at the same time and they kept it in their back pocket 

Also why not show this on stage in a more exciting way at game awards later this week instead of just throwing this out there? (Btw expect a few more reveals in the coming days, they're probably not alone at doing this...)

Looks cool idk but not sure if it's a good idea to put this anywhere near that RE Survive game, it has such a jarring difference in quality

Mmm, I'm going to assume the RE2 team just got to work immediately on this as soon as the game came out. Probably a lot of asset reusage, which is absolutely fine (original RE3 did the same) and it is the same engine, same workflow, same art direction, so It kinda makes sense they were able to put this out so fast.

It is possible when they started the RE2 remake, they were already planning on eventually doing this, and they had a skeleton crew on this in parallel with RE2 as well, because making a a brand new game this fast is quite an achievement, even considering it's the same franchise.
