Not bad, but a few points.

The Good:

1. Good over-all form and such.

2. It looks like wood sort of

The Bad:

1. It looks like you might have a photo-source of rock overlaying the wood, remove that.

2. The photo-source bolts you have on there are huge. Make them by hand instead and about half as big.

3. The whole of the wood texture is one color, and has no real depth. Try bringing the overlaying vertical planks to the fore-front with a lighter color and using a subtle random coloration over the entirety of the texture to add a bit more visual interest.

The Ugly:

1. Don't use photosourcing for small objects, like I said with the bolts, practice making these details yourself.

2. Choose a lighting direction and stick with it. more often than not a 10 o'clock position for lighting on a texture will look pretty darn snazzy.

Overall it's a wonderful base to start with, make another pass with some of the suggestions here, I'm curious to see what you can come up with :)

zomg pazl

The random direction of lighting on the bolts made them seem like they were scooped from a photo and rotated so they didn't all look the same. See: choose a lighting direction ;)

Hey skdr!

This is nice,

I agree on Posties comments,

and on top of that I think the vertical planks are to far away (floating)

from the horizontal background planks.

Try making the backround planks more dirty where they meet the

vertical ones.

If they are old (and they look old) there should be some dirt there

and that will maybe help the "floating" feel.

It allso looks a bit large I think.

But jeez man this is nice...

Thanks all ;D This really helps me to experiment with textures more.

I just started texturing so these little things are a bit unknown for me atm but thanks to you I'll make it ;)
