Izuno Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/gossip/ea- ... 105191.php I have no idea what the truth is. My guess is that it's a rumor...but you never know. Anyone have any better information or insight? Quote
Izuno Posted May 27, 2005 Author Report Posted May 27, 2005 http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/business/e ... 105291.php Well it's probably not true...but interesting read none the less. I don't know who this guy at kotaku is, but he claims to have received emails from EA's head. Good times. Quote
kleinluka Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 Somebody at polycount.com who works at EALA reported that they shifted some employees over to Florida a couple months ago. Makes sense for EA, salaries are lower in FL than in CA. Quote
Minos Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 They realized that a big earthquake will destroy CA some day Quote
TomWithTheWeather Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 Heh, and they just moved into the hurricane zone. Quote
Backslider Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 FL = Cheap wages (I think we are a step before something gets outsourced to mexico) I live there I should know  EA is building up some large facility in Orlando from what I've heard. It's nice to see jobs coming this way. Quote
Zacker Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 I think he ment that he lives in Florida... Quote
theiggsta Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Florida does have cheap wages, but the cost of living depends on where you go now. Mainly the middle of bumfuck nowhere in FL is cheaper, but going anywhere near Orlando, Miami/Lauderdale, Tampa means expensive housing unless you move into a really bad neighborhood. Guess EA wants the tax breaks, there's quite a few given out like candy by bushes little brother. Thank god I'm moving out of this dump soon, FL is boring. D: Quote
