blackdog Posted February 17, 2021 Report Posted February 17, 2021 (edited) The complaints about Frostbite engine seem a bit of a pretext… other EA studios have made driving games (with essentially a third person camera as well as first person) with it. What is this story about no saves when this is MP? I mean, BF does save player’s stats/unlocks… ~ Recent news were saying there’s a Skelton crew of 30 working, aiming for a major rework, but that the EA board is deciding whether to kill the game in the near future. blackdog Posted February 25, 2021 Report Posted February 25, 2021 With “Next” cancelled, the game is as good as dead such a waste of a good setting and art. If this was a pure rollercoaster SP (without being a looter) I would have bought it. Quote
Minos Posted February 26, 2021 Report Posted February 26, 2021 Coincidentally I was running around this game yesterday, man, it's such a pity... the art is really top notch (looks much better ingame than on YT videos). It's a shame to see so much art talent go to waste. Quote
Zarsky Posted February 28, 2021 Report Posted February 28, 2021 (edited) What's next? Not Anthem at least. The official announcement: Quote Friends, In the spirit of transparency and closure we wanted to share that we’ve made the difficult decision to stop our new development work on Anthem (aka Anthem NEXT). We will, however, continue to keep the Anthem live service running as it exists today. https://blog.bioware.com/2021/02/24/anthem-update/ As a positive note: Quote Time for some news that is going to make BioWare fans really happy. Following the success of Jedi Fallen Order and the failure of Anthem, EA has allowed BioWare to make the next Dragon Age a single-player RPG. Previously, it was planned as a service game https://twitter.com/jasonschreier/status/1365005940739743745?s=20 This little failure help push the money towards what BioWare fans actually value. Nice.
