marque_pierre Posted May 24, 2005 Author Report Posted May 24, 2005 And how many girlfriends did you said you had ? I am happily married to a stunningly beautiful woman, thank you very much! And I resent that implication. Why can't you be nuts about games and still be rockingly cool? Would you think that of someone who collected Jean Paul Gaultier suits or Picasso paintings? Guys, in this industry we seem to suffer from a collective inferiority complex, but wake up and smell the high score guys, we are fast on our way to becoming the largest and most dominant entertainment sector in the world. That is power. That is sexy. That is cool. We should carry ourselves with that pride; Believe that that pride carries through, not just in geek circles, but also everywhere else! If we don't nobody will! Quote
mikezilla Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 you are 100% totally awesome. you are also 100% totally right about the collective inferiority complex among the geeks. also... manchester for life. (also you have a beautiful family. congratulations.) Quote
MrH2o Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 Take a chillpill man I was just joking, but I agree with you to 100%, altho i would need more self esteem anyway, nice family and a beautiful wife you have there, take care of them Quote
marque_pierre Posted May 24, 2005 Author Report Posted May 24, 2005 Thanks Mike. Loved Brothers in Arms by the way. Compliments right back at you! Quote
FrieChamp Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 Agreed, it cannot be that CliffyB is the only cool designer on this planet Quote
marque_pierre Posted May 24, 2005 Author Report Posted May 24, 2005 He is not. Take Jason Rubin for example. But we need more still. I mean, when I rode snowboards, I never had any trouble telling people what I did for a living. In fact I was always looking forward to that question. Nowadays, what I have come to expect from people is that confused and disappointed feeling. To the general public we are more associated with cop killing prostitute abusing criminals from GTA or high school shootings than all the marvellous good times we give people all over the world. It is sad. But I refuse to give in, I refuse to not be proud of being a games developer. It is the only way... If you have no idea what I am talking about, please treat yourself to an Aha! moment here: http://www.fileplanet.com/138083/130000/fileinfo/Jason-Rubin's-"Tara-Reid-and-the-Future-of-Game-Design"-Speech Quote
marque_pierre Posted May 24, 2005 Author Report Posted May 24, 2005 nice wife=)=) You bet. And she loves games too! Quote
Tequila Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 Man, that picture dropkicked any geek stereotypes into the stratosphere! Great family you have there, and some lovely shirts: that ancient Chelsea one brings back memories, but Sunderland and Inter Milan were always my teams shirt-wise. Quote
insta Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 A lovely family, a bunch of shirts, what more can a man ask for in life? Quote
D3adlode Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 Woah, you just kicked about 75% of people on this board in the balls, well done Quote
insta Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 Woah, you just kicked about 75% of people on this board in the balls, well done The remaining 25% of the forum population is prepubescent and have no balls which you could kick them in, so you gave their shin a good trashing instead. Quote
