still we have no content, but here's the main story line / setting for the mod:

You are on a mission to explore a far away planet that seems to be just like earth but something goes

wrong at the landing so you crash down on the planet. you are the only survivor of the wreckage and must

find a way back home...whatever it takes.

What you find on the planet is that it is almost identical to earth, theres a breathable atmosphere and there are trees

and water and the tempreature seems to be similar aswell.

Only difference is that the huma population seems to be opressed by some sort of world police force that is forcing them to work

like slaves in deep mines and jungles to harves the planet of it's valuable resources.

Also the creatures you find there are verry hostile and attack and eat humans.

Hope anyone gets interested, we'll have something to show soon i hope, i'll keep u guys updated of any progress made.

Why making another Mod? There are already thousands of mods outside which will die because everybody wants to make his own mod instead of working together with other guys who work on a similar project.

Hey man you should hook up with Mikezilla, I hear he is a writer as well, you two aspiring authors would surely have plenty to discuss

you and me.

may I join as a spectator? PS: I'LL BRING THE POPCORN.

What the other guys said, its like "just another mod", which sadly enough, probably will die in a few mothsweeks.

Try to hook up with another team, and cooperate with them on a prodject that might even get finished.

While I agree with what most of you said, this is not the place to tell these people what to do. They are coming here for help so if youre not interested in helping don't reply.

We all started making mods that ended up failing, if you are just starting out you can't expect to go out there and build a mod that everybody loves.

I remember when I co-leaded my old HL mod Target:Acquired back in like 1999. The storyline was pretty unique, but all of us were total noobs and we couldn't get a team together so it ended up failing. It's normal. And to many of you it might sound like a surprise that working on a mod that fails is actually very rewarding in the sense that you learn a lot from the mistakes you made.

So, back to my main point... if you dont want to join a mod that is advertised here don't reply simply to tell the person that he shouldn't be making this mod and that it sounds boring and is going to die. It's not necessary.

Whats wrong with sharing my experiences with other people?

Its my opinion based on experience that "noobs" should work together with other people before they start their own projects.

too many modprojects die because people make the same mistakes again and again and again...

My post had all the answers to your questions,

mod making if you are a noob is not about finishing a mod and making it awesome. It's about the learning experience you have when you do it.

People today are too focused on making their mod successful and big instead of using it as an opportunity to have fun creating and not worry too much about what comes of it. And if you are an un-experienced modder, that is exactly what you should do.

It's not wrong to share your experience with other people but your post wasn't very constructive because all you said was WHY MAKE AN OTHER MOD THATS GOING TO FAIL.

I could ask you the same question why you are working on INS and not join one of the other 300 modern warfare mods. Because you think your team has what it takes. And it's obvious that you guys on INS have different goals about your mod than people who are just starting to dip into the material.

If I remember correctly, when INS first made a post on here about looking for members many people had doubts because it looked like "just an other cs clone". By now you have proved many of those people wrong with the work you've been showing. So you should give other people that chance as well. Even if you don't think they have the necessary skill and experience to pull it off.

Anyway, I don't wanna turn this into a rant and hi-jack the thread. I'd just like it if we could all just let people do their stuff and if we have nothing constructive to add to simply not add anything.

klein you are right that my comment was not a very constructive one.

let me try to say it in a more constructive way. IMHO it would be good if people who are new to the moddingscene would search for a similar project and find out if they could form a team together with the other guys because very often they are newbies too with exactly the same targets.

Everybody would profit from it and the chance that one of the many projects will see the light of day would raise.

But yeh its nothing wrong with making its experiences. Just see it as a tip from me. ;)

i'm obviously missing something here? but if u guys dun liek the idea why bother to even post atall tbh

and yes this mod is not about beeing a great game but gaining experience witch all the people currenly on the team could use (no offence... as i'm nub too) there fore there is no deadline etc. , i just started this project with the idea of gainign some experience and maybe the next project would become a nice game...

if u want to have experience leading a mod, then make ur own, but if u want experience in anything else, join an existing mod with some more experienced ppl. Also its kinda important that u r motivated to make the mod, if u dont think the mod will be great then u or ur team will probably give up soon. And unless u can make something that exists (like counterstrike) better, u should try something original. U dont have to, but u will learn that later anyway=)

hey RD, first of all i'm motivated like a dog with add but i'm just beeing realistic saying it won't be like CS or anything.....

second , i want mod leading and game design experience and so i started my own mod, and also i want to help beginners in the biznes to gain some vital experience needed so if they ever join a proffesional high standard mod they know what to do.

Like this is can help them develop some team working skills aswell as that they get some good experience in the area that they focus in weather that is level design, sound directing , 3D art or anything else as whe nyour working in a team you'll get more usefull critisism and are forced to work in that kind of enviroment witch is in my opinion a good thing to learn.

but if you disagree i can understand, not everyone needs to have the same opinion about things.

this is just mine.

I really agree with this.

If you want experience leading a mod, then working your way up is also an option.
