DaanO Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Seriously. TS with some cool physics would be like being in an action movie. Even more than it is now.
InsaneSingingBlender Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 i think peri is hinting something btw: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/pr.searle/testns/rag5.avi
DanielAragon Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 TS is a really good concept, i think its a new one, albiet its an old mod... no other games that i have heard of use the concept of matrix xtyle action, other than of course the matrix games
ReNo Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 Max Payne is really the obvious comparison to draw.
D3adlode Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 When I said HL1 is dead i meant the engine. Everybody who is still developing for this engine should consider moving the hell on The engines still perfectly workable Why? People still map for quake1/2 so I don't see the need to move just because 'everyone else' is and as I've said before, some people don't have computers powerful enough to run source..
mike-0 Posted May 20, 2005 Author Report Posted May 20, 2005 I think making half life mods is more of a challenge than trying to make a graphically excellent game. Few mods for half life have good graphics - some mods for half life have excellent graphics, for the half life engine. Its hard to explain, catch my drift?
GrayFox Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 I think making half life mods is more of a challenge than trying to make a graphically excellent game. Few mods for half life have good graphics - some mods for half life have excellent graphics, for the half life engine. Its hard to explain, catch my drift? A better challenge would be to make something extraordinary for a better engine.
DanielAragon Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 you're saying gameplay outweighs looks cos lets face it, no half-life mods will win any awards for best-looking
GrayFox Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 Yea, you dont catch my drift. I didn't mean better engine graphics wise...
mike-0 Posted May 21, 2005 Author Report Posted May 21, 2005 you're saying gameplay outweighs looks cos lets face it, no half-life mods will win any awards for best-looking um... no
D3adlode Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 Let's be honest here, the only real difference between HL1 and HL2 is graphics and the physics system, the rest of the engine is pretty much the same from what I've seen of it. Still, I've yet to play the game so I'll judge it better when I've got HL2.
