ook Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 Just got back from a company trip to Holland and the surrounding area. Here's some of my personal pics. This time I had a tripod for my night pics so I had a lot more success there. Sorry for the massive download. Comments and critique appreciated. whew! - ook Quote
DD Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 I will have your babies now. Awesome stuff! I love the castle with a mot (spelling?). Quote
DaanO Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 Some great stuff, i'm impressed. I like how you can usually surprise me with some angles and i hardly see any photography cliches in your pictures which is good, obviously. Some of these photos show Holland in an interesting way that is new to me as well (i am from Holland), same could be said about Luxembourg (i was there just a few weeks ago, back-packed around the country for a week). Luxembourg is awesome for taking texture ref pics by the way, i'm gonna go back there once for sure. Awesome country. PhilipK Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 Awesome pics! My favorites are: The bridge, the castle at the water, the lone house at the field, the neon signs (really cool colours ), the jeep and the clouds. Quote
Tequila Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 BiA 2 in Holland, eh? Makes sense to me. Lovely pics. Quote
Lurker Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 Those are some pretty sick pictures! Great work. Quote
kleinluka Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 nice! i like the one with the worn wooden floor and the little stones on it Quote
ook Posted May 18, 2005 Author Report Posted May 18, 2005 Thanks for all the nice comments! Feel free to critique crappy ones as well if you have the inclination. I always like to get some sense of which pics people think are lame as well. Apparently the old broken floor and the castle are popular. - ook PS: fixed one broken image link as well... Quote
Fletch Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 The shot of that rifled tube hurt my brain. Good work. I think you've got a good eye for framing and use of color, but the nest thing to work with would be experimenting with depth and focal length. I've also found taking photo trips around town with a specific objective has helped me recently. I'll go for a walk and say "I'm only going to take pictures focusing on depth." or "Photos involving color or contrast today." It's helped me be able to put things together in collections better than "Things I tok picutes of on Tuesday" and it's helped me be more willing to experiment with a lot of different shots and angles on one subject. Overall, great pics. I bet Mikey is jealous he didn't get to go. Quote
MrH2o Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 Great pictures, what camera is that and how much is it ? and filters or objectives ? Quote
