That50'sGuy Posted December 8, 2017 Report Posted December 8, 2017 (edited) I'm working on my own CS:GO map (Retail: Set in a shopping mall almost complete with renovations) And I think this fountain is a little bland, but I cant think of anything else to add to it. (P.S. This is a spawn point so I want it as pretty as it can be, for gameplay its mainly a save point.) Edited December 12, 2017 by Xingo Quote
Eric_Chocholacek Posted December 9, 2017 Report Posted December 9, 2017 Looking good! I feel like the rectangular shape is pretty boring, perhaps if you made it more circular or even just a bit more of a wavy shape to make your eyes move around the area more could help. The vegetation you've added definitely helps, but I think the objects could be placed in some more interesting ways, such as a large group of plants against the wall or around the center of the fountain itself. Ooooh, Or if you could add some sort of statue against/in the wall there and surround it with some vegetation could be pretty cool! If possible, I personally enjoy when fountains are shooting out multiple streams of water in interesting directions/patterns. gera 1 Quote
Mr.Yeah! Posted December 9, 2017 Report Posted December 9, 2017 If you want to keep the shape of the fountain I would say, add trims to its edges? Also some fountains feature multiple levels that add to their height and make them less 'flat' (while also potentially providing more cover), maybe you could try this? Quote
blackdog Posted December 9, 2017 Report Posted December 9, 2017 In the screen it seems to small for such a pool, also the plants on the side detract from it El Moroes 1 Quote
NikiOo Posted December 13, 2017 Report Posted December 13, 2017 I'd add some nuke grass coming out of it. Maybe only on the edges. Quote
MikeGon Posted December 13, 2017 Report Posted December 13, 2017 Also the water material makes it look swampy/dirty. I think something clean would look much nicer, especially if it's transparent and allows us to see a tile texture at the bottom for instance... ...but personally I wouldn't focus on adding details there when there's work to be done on the macro level - like that huge gap you got there in the back: On 12/8/2017 at 6:31 PM, Xingo said: (assuming you're building a full-fledged environment...) text_fish 1 Quote
That50'sGuy Posted December 28, 2017 Author Report Posted December 28, 2017 (edited) Hi everybody! So I've taken a bit of everyone's advice and now the fountain looks like this: I think the ivy at the back needs to be adjusted. but all in all, I'm so happy that all of you people helped out Also, this is just CT spawn, the main map is in the building, to prove it, here's B stie: Thanks!
