ZZZ Posted December 5, 2017 Report Posted December 5, 2017 Shall we repeat it? Hmm... For now, I'm sticking to the same goals of past year. Quote
PogoP Posted December 6, 2017 Report Posted December 6, 2017 Gonna learn some new modelling software. I'm actually starting this year, with Modo. Really gonna push myself out of my comfort zone with the art I'm creating. Also, I'm marrying my girlfriend, I proposed last weekend And... buying a house. And mayyyyyyyybe might have a kid on the way at the end of the year too. Mental. -HP-, Vaya, FMPONE and 14 others 12 5 Quote

Pampers Posted December 6, 2017 Report Posted December 6, 2017 been using it for over a year now and it has really helped at work and for stuff during my spare time, feels like I've barely scratched the surface though Quote
grapen Posted December 6, 2017 Report Posted December 6, 2017 It’s time for me to start trying to get interviews going and break into the industry. Making the career switch in 2018 would be the dream. Bevster, Fnugz, leplubodeslapin and 8 others 11 Quote
Sigma Posted December 6, 2017 Report Posted December 6, 2017 1. Learn Modo. 2. Continue work on current game. 3. Prepare portfolio for career switch (est. 2019). 4. Get a dog? Probably get a dog... if not a house then dog. I want a dog. Boop the snoot. 'RZL, Eric_Chocholacek, Pampers and 2 others 5 Quote
MikeGon Posted December 7, 2017 Report Posted December 7, 2017 Before the end of the year: Improve the quality of de_Opal and try to reach its maximum potential 1-2 small level design projects during the holidays (RTS games??) 2018: New CS:GO map project New UT map project More stuff ??? Profit! Sigma 1 Quote
Eric_Chocholacek Posted December 7, 2017 Report Posted December 7, 2017 Finish up my horror-themed game so I can finally update my portfolio after 3 years of nothing. Update my portfolio website with more development process screenshots and information. Create an amazing game (and levels) for another project I'm working on with a great group of people. Solidify/enhance my skills and practices as a level designer. Create lots, fail often, learn more. Get the fuck out of QA and into a designer role. Hopefully get a little pupper of my own <3 Sigma 1 Quote

2d-chris Posted December 8, 2017 Report Posted December 8, 2017 Save for my adventure Make a game all by myself, mostly for shits and giggles, but I'll learn a lot Get a little fitter, I'm not in bad shape but can always improve Quote
Guest Posted December 8, 2017 Report Posted December 8, 2017 (edited) Be more honest. Procrastinate less. Exercise more, lose a buncha' weight and stick to a more consistent schedule, no more "oops I stayed up until 3 AM again". I would love to get some work in the games industry this year... still feels really far away. Other than that just trying to finish the projects that I start and taking one day at a time. -HP- Posted December 11, 2017 Report Posted December 11, 2017 Nice, loads of good posts! As for me, I want to make 2018 one of the most important years of my life. At work, it's all lining up and there's some really exciting things to work on next. I want to show the small game I've been working on by myself for a while now, I just wanna get it to a stage where I'm comfortable showing it first, then I wanna keep showing progress regularly, getting feedback and all that shebang. And last, but not least, we're having a baby, due around June! Izuno, FMPONE, El Moroes and 14 others 15 2 Quote
