Kaizo Posted June 3, 2017 Report Posted June 3, 2017 As said in the title, the next map will take place in Dublin, Ireland. A place i've always wanted to visit =-] The layout is still in progress, photos will be uploaded once the entire layout is finished. Quote
Kaizo Posted July 16, 2017 Author Report Posted July 16, 2017 Finally, after a month of fixing the map, the beta of it is released! And i'm happy to show you all my first map. de_Dublin takes place in...well...Dublin, Ireland. The map has slightly detailed areas so you have an idea of what it'll look like later in development However, this is only a rough draft, so there will be many changes to some areas. feedback would be greatly appreciated! King Skizzy Posted July 16, 2017 Report Posted July 16, 2017 (edited) I really like the brushwork! But the stairs are very steep... you made them 8x8 units but they should actually be 16x8. 16 wide, 8 tall. Also I would like to see some more variation in height on the bombsites to make them more interesting and they are slightly on the small side as well. Edited July 16, 2017 by King Skizzy Quote
Kaizo Posted July 20, 2017 Author Report Posted July 20, 2017 I decided to detail part of Bombsite B to get a better feel for the atmosphere of de_Dublin. I'm sure i'm heading in the right direction. I will be working on making my own props to enhance the theme. Is there anything I should improve in this? Screenshots: Spoiler Quote

Screenshots: Hide contents The stairs are too step... you need to get that basic thing correct first before starting to textue it even if you are experimenting. Roald 1 Quote

nu7 Posted July 22, 2017 Report Posted July 22, 2017 Gave it a quick run through-- I like some of the angles and attack options, but it felt generally too cramped and cluttered across the board. I feel like if you just scaled it up a bit it would be great. King Skizzy 1 Quote
blackdog Posted July 23, 2017 Report Posted July 23, 2017 I know is just very early but seems a bit dark and with too long shadows that make it noisy and more difficult to spot enemies. Also consider a name change as there's this unwritten(?) rule of not using real name locations (to avoid backlash) Kaizo 1 Quote
Kaizo Posted July 25, 2017 Author Report Posted July 25, 2017 I've been detailing and experimenting with the atmosphere and lighting, and hopefully have made great progress. (and fixed those pesky stairs) Along with making areas more visible and slightly brighter. Instead of a sunny bright day, I went for a more cloudy and gray-ish day. I like the new change, since i've been using a sunny day since day 1 of making this map, but I'd love for other people's opinions on it. Here are a few screenshots of the new lighting and new detailed buildings Screenshots: Spoiler Quote
