Sprony Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 Not interested in the game, but this was cool. Quote
Beck Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 Played a little of the first at my old bosses house but was never amazed by it really. Trailer was cool, bonus points for Nathan Fillion. But think I'll pass unless it turns out great and appears on PC this time Quote
Sprony Posted March 30, 2017 Author Report Posted March 30, 2017 That guy is funny, I like him. Quote
blackdog Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 I don't understand why they made such a fuss teasing a trailer, when the trailer comes out and it's still CG? What's the point. Anyway I'm blown away by how bad the casting for the voice acting is. I'll give a pass to the funny robot as it's a robot, but Lance Reddick is so out of place that it does seem it's not even lip-sync. Quote

It's the same voice actors from the first one. Continuity perhaps? Also - I thought the animation sync with the voice was pretty decent. That and Lance Reddick has a pretty sweet voice (that he uses routinely to play the serious leader :D). The "funny robot" is Nathan Fillion. I'm looking forward to this one as I can get into it sooner (only got into the first one last December) and its been slated for a PC release as well. Should be a fun FPS with some great looking environments and design (the first one is a source of inspiration for me right now on the environment art side). Quote
blackdog Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 Haven't played the first one because these grind shooters don't appeal to me at all. Plus no reliable internet. I didn't know they already used the actor, I watched the early trailers and many of the walkthroughs and don't recall he was voiced in at all. Let me make clear I love Lance Reddick and his voice, he was perfectly appropriate in Quantum Break and Dead Space where you could see his features, but I can't unsee his face when hearing his voice, and putting it on humanoid-blue-alien just feels wrong. Sigma Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 @blackdog ah, I see now. Yeah, it's hard to see it when your reference is The Wire. I get that. Lol. Quote
-HP- Posted March 31, 2017 Report Posted March 31, 2017 I'm going to be honest here, I played Destiny 1 until the credits rolled and I found the game to be very uninspiring and generic in many areas. I love how the ending cutscene is this epic climax where this really badass character gifts you this uber rare legendary weapon, like they really build it up, this weapon is so good you'll fire rainbows out of your ass... turns out I already had it on my inventory. lol Sigma, Sprony, blackdog and 4 others 7 Quote
Alf-Life Posted April 11, 2017 Report Posted April 11, 2017 I played about 8hrs of the Beta, but we were crunching or something so I when I bought the game on ps3 I never played it. Got a copy of the whole game including expansions from a friend for PS4 recently and damn, I have to say Bungie know how to make a shooter feel great. I want to play some more in prep for D2 now. I think it comes down to expectations. I bought it assuming it would have a great story and universe like Halo. But what I got was an endless grind with basically no story at all. There's no denying that the gunplay is excellent. But that matters little to me when the rest isn't compelling. Quote

I'm an SP gamer at heart so hope Destiny 2 can 'fix' that (before other AAA companies figure out how to do a Destiny-style games-as-a-service AND also provide a good SP campaign). Sprony 1 Quote
