MegaKosan Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 Hey guys, I made a simple 1K per side skybox of a Mars-like planet! It´s made for CSGO, but as with most textures, you can use it for any Source engine game. Download it here on GameBanana. Btw, I´m kinda new to this site, can I embed sketchfab 3d previews? blackdog, Vorontsov, leplubodeslapin and 6 others 9 Quote
JSadones Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 (edited) Saw this on /r/csmapmakers, really like it No idea on Sketchfab previews. Edited July 1, 2016 by JSadones Quote
Shibou Posted July 3, 2016 Report Posted July 3, 2016 I realy like that skybox, but I can hardly imagine a theme on CSGO that would fit to it. Maybe some terrorists on mars? If the light gets adjusted it could also be a a dessert on earth. Quote

It definitely won´t fit a normal CSGO map, but it can surely be used for a somewhat non-serious map (and maps like de_elysium). And you can use it for any other Source engine game, so you could use this in Half-Life, Portal, Black Mesa, TF2, and so on. Golliat and blackdog 2 Quote

blackdog Posted July 24, 2016 Report Posted July 24, 2016 Very cool! And I have some ideas of heavily themed maps, it would be cool to create something unique like they do in COD; would also need new player models though to do it properly… I guess that Valve needs to give the nod to do so? cashed Posted August 17, 2016 Report Posted August 17, 2016 Planets are quite similar in a lot of cases. I can see something like this for the Salt flats in Bolivia Vorontsov 1 Quote

8mommasboi8 Posted May 2, 2017 Report Posted May 2, 2017 I wouldn't worry about it too much if it was a "traditional" CS map. They tend to be calibrated with a very specific goal in mind. Essentially what makes a good CS map would be impossible to find in the real world giving it an element of fiction. Might as well go full fiction and send em to mars. Quote
