So hey. haven´t done this before.

So de_Fabric is actually my first attempt on making a defuse map. I´ve tried to keep it as simple as possible to try and make a balanced, easy-to-learn map.

It´s meant to be set in a factory on the border of Germany which is being used as a "checkpoint" for the entry of weapon into Europe for use by the counter-terrorist groups. The terrorist have got hold of this information and choose to destroy this factory to stop the supply of weapon to the counter-terrorist groups and take some weapons for themselves in the meantime.

Note that the only thing that´s done is the layout, most of the textures are mostly the default dev textures and most prop_statics are temporal.

On a side note:

I am looking for someone to help me in the aesthetics for this map. If anyone would want to take on this work just notify me through here or Steam and if I could see some of your previous work that´d be preferable. Of course, I would mark you as one of the creators of the map.

*EDIT*
I am aware that in connector there is a wall sticking out that you can look through. I have no idea why it´s there, in the editor it´s not. I have redone the objects in that area to try and fix it but for some reason it still is there. I´ll be trying to fix that in the meantime.

For your first map this one is realy great! You even got minimap and location names included, thats realy great IMO.

At first try CTs and Ts arrived almost the same time at A, which isnt necessarily a bad thing. That layout itself is a bit blocky but that can be fixed easily whilst detailing the map.

I think the middle part has to many (narrow) connections (which are invisible on yur minimap).

I am wondering how the truck cam to the second floor without any street leading there :D

By this do you mean you want actual help with detailing, (as in providing helpful feedback on how to make stuff look good) or that you want someone to do all the detailing for you? Knowing that this is your first map I'd advise on creating everything yourself.

Well, yeah. My main idea was to work alongside another person on detailing the map. I´ve had previous experience in level editing with UE4 but when it came to the textures and details I always sucked so that´s mostly why I would like some help from someone else.

But thanks for the advice, I might actually try to do some by myself and see how that works out.

Yeah, being my first map I didn´t want to complicate myself doing the map with angles, and also I just found out how to do multi-level minimaps just a few hours ago.

And about the truck, which one do you mean? The one on A site? Right behind it is supposed to be a closed "garage door". The one on B site, I hadn´t thought of it lol.

About the timings I only got to test them out roughly with a friend and all I did was pull the T spawn a bit back to try and fix it but I don´t know if it´s ok or maybe I could pull it a bit back more.

16/03/2016 Update:

-Added cover using props.
-Pushed T spawn backwards for balancing.
-Added multi-level radar.

Why ?

Well, it is the first map I´ve ever made and I had big plans for it when I was making it but now that the layout is pretty much done, I feel like it´s kinda flawed and small. I want to make a bigger map with a setting in mind since the moment I start working on it. Now that I know how to make a map, hopefully I´ll be able to use the skills acquired to make a (hopefully) better map.

I definitely see where you're coming from. My first few projects I abandoned because I was learning so fast that they were starting to look horrible and unpractical as I went. I assume that's basically what is going on here. Good luck on your next project!
