Greg D'Alessandro Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 How do you showcase scripting/coding ability in a level design portfolio? Thank you. Quote
jackophant Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 I would guess screenshots (maybe even webm/gif animations) of the final product as well as a detailed explanation of the project indicating what you were responsible for. Quote
blackdog Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 In terms of scripting, you're talking visual scripting and/or stuff like animated scenes, or stuff like LUA that modifies the behaviours of something?Either case we talking of something not really screenshot-able (except for something like a blueprint); best thing imo is capture a video and then describe what you've done in a "case study" page on your portfolio.I would even consider to display this sort of thing in a "gym" map, so that the environment doesn't distract from the core mechanics you've implemented. clankill3r Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 What kind of scripting / coding did you do? Quote
2d-chris Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Make a short video - cut to the parts where things are happening, I've not needed to do that, but I would do if I made a HL2 sp level and wanted to show it. Quote
