Guest Posted February 6, 2016 Report Posted February 6, 2016 Basically what the title says. When placing down various plants like bushes and all that, sometimes the lighting can look really ugly. Any tips on making foliage and plants in general look better? Examples:Sometimes parts are poorly lit, sometimes the lighting on the entire thing is off. The same goes for other props sometimes, but it happens mostly with plants. Here's an example of it happening with some cinder blocks: The sides of the blocks are lit as if they were in the sunlight directly, even though they are in the shadow. Thanks in advance Quote
Klems Posted February 6, 2016 Report Posted February 6, 2016 (edited) Have you compiled in final? You can check "Ignore surface normal for computing vertex lighting". Foliages don't really have a "normal", it's just a bunch of leaves going in all direction, so using the normal doesn't really make sense here. You may or may not want to check it for big trees, as the trunk itself needs to be lit according to its normals. Edited February 6, 2016 by Klems Quote
