I've learnt a lot on here reading through old threads for big maps (de_ali is a good example) though so you might want to try that. There's no hard rules when it comes to detailing though- it's art and subjective.if you are aiming for an operation map I would be looking at the base maps and community maps that have gotten in the game - decompile them and think about how they are built up.The biggest mistake I see in playtests is overusing props and textures from the default library and trying to make them fit in- rather than using the stuff that fits the scene already.
