Sorry, I missed this before. Topics that've been inactive for three years are archived but they can be unarchived if you really want that. Let me know the address and I can do it.

Edit: I've decided to disable archiving as it was only in place for performance reasons, but the newer software is much more efficient. A background task is running to return the threads to regular status. This means it'll also (with time) be possible to search those threads as archived threads weren't included in results.

I came across a forum with the same software apparently. They have a much larger community, but they have a really different system than here to reward people when saying constructive stuffs.

Visually it looks really alike, at least on the mobile version.

2. Where is the appropriate forum section to ask this?

Somehow I feel that you guys replaced the "preview" button with "insert other social media" and removed the "site discussion" section to keep us quiet about it. For some reason(?)

You can post threads like this here. As far as I know, the preview option is gone since the last couple of updates. But @Thrik will know for sure.

I don't remember there ever being a site feedback section.  There is the thread Sprony linked to though.

As for the preview feature, that was something that was removed by the software vendor when the forum was completely overhauled a couple of years ago. I'd imagine that this was because the forum does more in-editor previewing now (e.g. images are shown in the editor, all formatting, etc) and also the forum no longer uses BBCode, so there's less need to 'translate' the post into a previewed version. Hopefully it's OK to do without it.

I also ask again how do you insert webm and gifv into posts so they show and not just have a referral link?

I'm not really very familiar with those but it looks like the browser support is very poor, which I expect is why the software doesn't do anything with them. Saying that, gifycat does appear to be supported by the forum so maybe those other formats are on the agenda.

my browser almost dies if there is more than two gifs on one page, both at home and work, proper html5 vids would be noice

OK so as a weird coincidence previewing was just added back in with the latest version. This is the first button in the editor.

There's a bug I noticed in the past but don't think I ever mentioned it: when you are in a discussion and someone replies, a notification pops up. If you reply to the conversation though, the new comment doesn't show up! It's very uncanny.
