blackdog Posted November 18, 2015 Report Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) I'm not sure what to say really. I can't think of one single map, as I can love different game modes, plus I'd want to put a singleplayer level for compensation...toujane (cod2) mofos, people are all on the roofs n shit, that's so goodWhen playing Backlot I always had a feeling that it was an improved version of this map. Am I the only one? Edited November 18, 2015 by blackdog Quote
dux Posted November 18, 2015 Report Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) Unparalleled atmosphere and a fantastic, fun mission. Others will say The Haunted Cathedral or The Cradle but this for me always stood out as my favourite. It was my first taste of Thief and has always stayed with me as the defining map of the game.I can't choose just one that's not fair. Engineering deck in System Shock 2 was so tense and just an amazing experience. Cramped maintenance corridors, exploding droids, dark echoing cargo bays full of fucking monkeys and of course those loud automatic doors. When you heard them open by themselves behind you and followed by a "Sir" - poop comes out. Edited November 18, 2015 by dux Vaya 1 Quote
Alf-Life Posted November 18, 2015 Report Posted November 18, 2015 Awesome topic! Would be interested to see folks' SP faves. All of the ones mentioned here are great... love for Gulf of Oman. But.......... Maybe it's nostalgia but for me: FMPONE, Beck, Vaya and 1 other 4 Quote

Bodd Jonar Posted November 18, 2015 Author Report Posted November 18, 2015 I'm not sure what to say really. Am I the only one?Completely different layouts but I guess they share some things. Both maps have many rooftops or high grounds where you can see alot of the map from, and both are set in cities in the desert. Can't believe they haven't remade toujane. It was the dust2 of CoD. When it comes to singelplayer I don't even know what to say, when I think about I haven't played very many singelplayer games. Quote
blackdog Posted November 18, 2015 Report Posted November 18, 2015 Like someone mentioned, if I think of DM maps, I can't think of a map where I spent more hours than DM_Morpheus (UT)but I feel you can't name one map... in multiplayer there are so many game modes hence many maps that are gonna be perfect for the respective modes. And then there's the SP...Completely different layouts but I guess they share some things. Ye in the brevity I didn't explain myself properly I guess; what I mean is that I have the very same feeling of perfect rotation, you always meeting someone, everyone has always the opportunity to use the surrounding area to his advantage... Guest Posted November 19, 2015 Report Posted November 19, 2015 Katabatic from Tribes: Ascend, though I haven't played earlier Tribes games so I don't know about earlier versions of the map.A lot of other Tribes maps were really good too, like Raindance or Sunstar. Quote
Klems Posted November 19, 2015 Report Posted November 19, 2015 Well (TFC version), Life of the Party, Sacred (Painkiller), dust2, avalanche, crossfire, etcAnyone noticed how avalanche is only made on a 90° and 45° grid, but still appears so pretty? Tisky 1 Quote
