After a tease yesterday, Ubisoft announced today the new entry in the franchise. We will go all melee back to the Stone Age in Primal.

A clever idea to really use and build on top of the soft crafting system that we have been accustomed to in the last years.

Trailer:

Dev log

I bet someone here has been working on it

Well I'm curious.
Currently this first video shows me a lot of brown things / colors with a unknow setting for a game.
So yeah I need to see what they will make and how they will use this period  for a game...I need to see more / gameplay footage and not only a prehistoric hunt.

Oh, and I hope they won't respect the historic setting because I want to see a kind of a lost world place where some dinosaurs are still living :D

It is, but is not… at least they do more original things with it, not just copies every year

Well, 4 was basically a copy of 3?

4 Already felt quite rushed to be honest (fetch quests, incoherent storyline etc), I'm just worried it will happen again.

As much as I loved both FC3 and 4 (and 1 and 2 tbh), I think it's safe to say 4 was just 3 in Tibetan clothing. Yes it brought some new things to the table, but then so does COD with each iteration.

I'm not sure I like the look of this, it's like they've taken the Shangri La part of FC4 and expanded it into a game. But the video looks uber scripted so I shall reserve judgement until gameplay.

As much as I would love to hate on FC4 being the reskinned FC3, the soundtrack was frigging awesome. One of the best in my opinion.

This better have a melee system as good as in Dying Light. I don't know if this will keep me playing the usual Far Cry lenght of 40+ hours if it didn't.

Well, I don't know what to tell you about that "the same over and over" thing. I'll maybe pass my comment on this topic but when BO3 will be out, please, play it and let me know if it's again the same game.

It was more referencing Buddy's comment of "Far Cry is Ubisoft's COD now, shame."

I bought every cod up to mw2 and no longer felt I could justify spending that sort of money annually to keep up with the latest considering the changes. I tried again with advanced warfare and was disappointed with how little it had changed still considering the period of time passed.

I would be lying if I said I was following or knew anything about BO3, or even looking forward to it. However, I'm always willing to be swayed so I'll watch out for it on your request :)

I just don't like seeing good titles smeared because a publisher wants to capitalise on their earning potential.
