jayholden Posted August 6, 2015 Report Posted August 6, 2015 Hey everybody. Sorry for the clickbait title. I realize not everyone thinks the Final Fantasy series is broken. Humor me.The majority of the folks I talk to, especially those who played the earlier entries in the series, believe the past few games have been a letdown. Whether it's a less-than-stellar battle system, flat characters, poor worldbuilding or other concerns, the last great Final Fantasy - they say - went on sale some time before the past decade.Does this ring true with anyone here? If so, how would you bring the series back to its former greatness? Thanks. Quote
Minos Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 Final Fantasy XIII-2 is one of my favorite games ever so I might be the wrong person to ask this I'd be curious to hear from someone who played other FF games and didn't like FFXIII-2 what's the reason for that because for me the story and characters in that game were actually pretty good and deep. I'm finally playing Lightning Returns at the moment and even though it doesn't have high production values like previous entries it's still a damn good FF game, full of charm and uniqueness. To be honest, every entry in the main franchise is very unique in their own way so everyone will always have a favorite... I can't name any other series that have such varied games like FF, maybe that's the reason it has such a huge fanbase. Quote
