shawnolson Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) Got a new plugin for prop distribution called PropLine. It's a parametric tool for scattering props along splines. There are already similar solutions like the Spacing Tool in Max but it has limitations (like the preview always disappears if you move the viewport and you lose access to the settings once you hit OK). PropLine is designed to work alongside other plugins I've been making like CorVex. Edited July 2, 2015 by shawnolson fix youtube link to preview Vilham, will2k, TooProForYahoo and 4 others 7 Quote
shawnolson Posted July 10, 2015 Author Report Posted July 10, 2015 PropLine updated today with several new controls for prop distribution, transformation and per-prop overrides. No video yet but docs linked above have changelog and updated documentation on some of the new settings. Quote
shawnolson Posted August 10, 2015 Author Report Posted August 10, 2015 A ton of new features and updates in PropLine this week. The feature list is too long to paste here... just go to PropLine page to see the whole list. That list doesn't include a few minor updates posted since. And a new video on some of the features/controls added:Also, I wanted to touch on a question I'm getting a lot: What is the difference of PropLine and RailClone? First, PropLine is not a replacement for RailClone. Instead, it's a separate tool that solves specific tasks especially for re-usable prop distribution. Whereas RailClone is more like a parametric modeler, PropLine is a RailClone-like hybrid of the Spacing Tool and boolean compound objects. One of the main goals with PropLine is having access to the original prop objects and their transformations for the game exporters, etc. So although there are many similarities between RC and PropLine, they are not directly comparable. There are many tasks I'd go straight for RC with; it's those tasks that RC fails at (or makes too complex) that I built PropLine. will2k, Squad and Logic 3 Quote
